Classic In Every Way While the new CLASSIC R8 rods are a culmination of our most advanced materials, componentry, and application-specific tapers to date, the aesthetics span the decades of Sage history and fly fishing itself. Throughout the rod are colors and accents that call to mind the early days of the company, yet they’re presented in unquestionably modern forms and details. We’ve incorporated the highest-quality and most progressive parts and components, from cork and handle shape to guides, wood insert, and reel seat. Overall, the rods are timeless and fit for any generation. We expect they’ll be fished for a lifetime, maybe two. 2 / 4 Colors Starting with the traditional Sage Brown blank color and finishing with the Beige silk screen, the CLASSIC R8 aesthetic is unmistakably Sage, and in between, Chestnut and Beige thread wraps complete the package. These natural colors were taken from days before social media and video calls, encouraging anglers to slow down and observe the surroundings before making a first cast. 3 / 4 Reel Seat A rod named CLASSIC surely must have a fitting reel seat and wood insert. CLASSIC R8 rods feature a Flint-colored reel seat designed from scratch, machined and anodized from aerospace aluminum into a retrospective design of engravings and knurling. We chose distinctive, extra-figured Walnut wood for the insert, which complements the blank and thread wrap colors while also exhibiting its own unique patterns. 4 / 4 Timeless The CLASSIC R8 rods will undoubtedly inspire nostalgia in the anglers who fish them, but the modern designs and finishes connect the past with the present, making these rods more timeless than set in any one place in time. As with each and every Sage rod in existence, CLASSIC R8 rods are made entirely by hand on Bainbridge Island, Washington, USA.

Built around a super thin and large diameter arbor, this design now makes it easier to get fish on the reel quickly, minimizing the need to guide line onto the spool with your finger, all while providing consistent drag output. A unique balance system allows anglers to assemble and fine-tune a set of weights, so the ESN reel can perfectly balance any Euro Nymphing (or standard) rod. Add in a full frame that prevents fine leaders and lines from sneaking through the frame, and a sealed carbon drag system that provides a smooth uptake - leaving you with the ultimate fish-catching machine. FULL DETAILS • Full Frame • SCS Drag • One Revolution Drag Knob with numbered and detented setting • Ultra-Large arbor for fast line pick-up • Narrower spool for small volume ESN lines • Concave arbor for greater strength and capacity • Stainless steel ½, 1, and 1 ½ oz weights to adjust ideal balance point of nymphing setup • Easy conversion from left- to right-hand retrieve • Fully machined 6061-T6 aerospace grade aluminum • Cold forged and tempered for superior strength and rigidity • Hard anodized for surface protection and corrosion resistance • Neoprene and embroidered ballistic nylon reel case & spare weight case

Sage Maverick Details: Ankle-deep bonefish flats to bait balls in bluewater, the MAVERICK has been designed from the ground up with Konnetic Technology to be fine-tuned to the demanding needs of saltwater specific applications. Tailored for quick-shots and hearty fights, it’s the perfect tool for any angler stepping into the saltwater arena where speed is of the utmost importance. Saltwater angling is more often a game of quick shots than long casts. Dropping a fly in front of a cruising tarpon 20 ft off the bow can be the difference between success and failure during a day on the flats. In fact, most saltwater fisheries put a premium on getting the fly to the target quickly. Redfish meandering about Louisiana marshes, bonefish cruising marl-covered flats, and stripers slashing at bait all require a quick cast into “the zone” for high odds at a hookup. The quicker you can lay the fly down, the better the results. Sage’s new MAVERICK has been designed to maximize these quick-shot opportunities with a powerful tip section that drives the casting load down to more robust lower sections, making it easier to fire these quick efficient casts and helping the angler make the most of their finite opportunities. With a true saltwater specific backbone and design, the MAVERICK is ready for any salty challenge thrown its way.
