Kettle Creek flows for 43 miles through steep mountain terrain, dense hardwood forests, and remote wilderness. The watershed is famous for prolific hatches, quiet evenings, abundant wildlife, and some of the best wild trout fishing in Pennsylvania.
This is one of the few remaining places in the East where anglers can consistently fish wild water in a truly wild setting.
The tributaries feeding Kettle Creek offer some of the finest native brook trout fishing on the East Coast. With over 420 miles of tributaries, including 108 miles of Class A water. These crystal-clear mountain streams support strong populations of brilliantly colored brook trout and wild brown trout thriving in cold, oxygen-rich headwaters. Tight canopies, plunge pools, and soft edges create a classic small-stream experience that rewards precise casts and careful approaches.
Paired with Kettle Creek’s healthy fish populations, this trip delivers the full spectrum of wild and stocked trout fishing for which the region is famous. It remains one of the few places in the East where anglers can consistently fish wild water in truly wild surroundings.
Potter County is known for having some of the darkest night skies east of the Mississippi. On clear nights, the Milky Way stretches brightly over the ridges—whether you’re fishing an evening spinner fall or relaxing by the campfire, the night sky becomes an unforgettable part of the experience.
Your hosts provide the same high level of service you expect from Precision Fly Fishing. We’ll ensure you’re equipped with the right gear and fly selection to match current hatches, guide you to both Kettle Creek and lesser-known tributaries, and offer casting tune-ups or technique help as needed. The trip includes hearty cooked breakfasts, bagged lunches, and evening dinners served family-style.
