More Than a Guided Fishing Trip

A day on the water with Mike Komara is about much more than catching trout.

As a member of the U.S. Fly Fishing Team, Mike has spent years refining his approach through competition, guiding, and countless hours studying trout behavior across a wide range of fisheries. His success isn't built around a single fly or a single technique—it's built on understanding why fish behave the way they do and making the right decisions throughout the day.

During your trip, Mike shares the same thought process he relies on every time he steps into a river. You'll gain insights into how trout position themselves, how current influences presentation, why certain flies consistently produce fish, and how subtle adjustments often make the difference between a slow day and an exceptional one.

Whether you're making your first casts with a Euro rod or already fish tight-line techniques regularly, every trip is customized to your experience level and fishing goals.

What Makes This Trip Different?

What Makes This Trip Different?

Many guide trips focus on taking anglers to productive water. Mike focuses on helping you understand why that water is productive.

Instead of simply showing you where to cast, he'll explain how to recognize holding water, how changing flows affect trout behavior, when to adjust fly weight or presentation, and how to make better decisions throughout the day. These are lessons that continue to pay dividends long after your trip is over.

The result is more than a successful day of fishing—it's a better understanding of the sport itself.

What You'll Gain on the Water
