The Thin Mint might be the streamer of the decade. The tungsten bead version and the the articulated version are both top sellers. This is another version in the same same highly-productive color scheme. This version varies in the following ways: We tie this in smaller sizes, This pattern is tied on a jig hook, The "hackle" is a mix of black and brown CDC, and The dubbing collar is swept back to create pulsating leech movements We fish this several ways, including in lakes under an indicator or stripped slowly and dread drifted as a point fly (our favorite way to fish this). Add this version to your Thin Mint line-up.

Adding the glass bead imitates the tiny buble of gas the midge uses to float itself from the bottom to the top of the water. Fish this pattern at any depth. Quills provide natural segmention without any need for additional materials. That helps this fly stay sleek and sink quick. Well played, Mr Olsen. Like Perdigons in general, this fly has nothing to stop it from dropping to the bottom and resembling the size and silhouette of just about any mayfly nymph. The old adage states "if your nymph isn't getting stuck, you're not fishing where you should be" The Jiggy series uses a 60 degree jig hook, allowing the angler to fish the fly directly on the bottom where nymphs live. Increased drifts without hanging up on the bottom is the biggest advantage this style nymph offers. This orientation also helps with a more positive hook up, typically pinning the fish top dead center allowing a faster and safer release!
