    DESCRIPTION

    The Perdigon has nothing to stop it from dropping to the bottom and resembling the size and silhouette of just about any mayfly nymph. The old adage states "if your nymph isn't getting stuck, you're not fishing where you should be" The Jiggy series uses a 60 degree jig hook, allowing the angler to fish the fly directly on the bottom where nymphs live. Increased drifts without hanging up on the bottom is the biggest advantage this style nymph offers. This orientation also helps with a more positive hook up, typically pinning the fish top dead center allowing a faster and safer release.!     Created by Larry Graham, the Lightning Bug Nymph can be used as a searching nymph, but will probably draw more strikes when used as a Pale morning dun emerger. Either way, this is an excellent nymph to fly fish with.  By tying this fly with a tungsten bead, the fly sinks quickly, where big trout prefer to feed, and the jig hook helps keep the fly from hooking the bottom of the river.
