    The tungsten bead hare's ear is a time tested pattern that is extremely effective at catching fish. It is versatile in that it imitates a wide variety of underwater bugs. This fly has loose hair around the thorax that simulate the legs of an aquatic insect, and a tungsten bead which will sink the nymph quickly into the deep zone where the big fish hang out. The Tungsten Bead Hare's Ear Nymph is a must in a fly fisherman's fly box.

    If a chimera - like a Minotaur - is a mix of human and animal, what is the mix of insect and baitfish? Who knows, but this fly has a wooly bugger style tail and a stone fly body.
