View full detailsGolden Stoneflies are a big meal for a trout. The Rogue Golden Stonefly is our favorite pattern to imitate the Golden Stonefly. Once the nymph crawls out of the river and hatches into an adult, they spend most of their time on nearby willow or alder branches. The adult Golden Stonefly becomes most active during the afternoon, either returning to the water to lay eggs, or being blown into the water by gusts of wind. Knowing these traits of the Golden Stonefly will help your odds during this hatch.

View full detailsWhile the parachute hopper is not the most realistic hopper pattern to a fisherman, this is not the case to trout. We have found this to be the most effective hopper pattern ever tied, possibly because of how low it rides in the water. To imitate the natural behavior of a grasshopper, land the fly with a plop, and twitch the line occasionally.

View full detailsThe Parachute electric Green Drake is one of the most realistic Green Drake (Ephemera guttulatais) patterns that we offer. The green drake is one of the largest mayflies that trout have available to them. They generally hatch mid-day, and will cause trout to focus only on this fly pattern. The nymph emerges to the surface of the water quickly, and after drying its wings, flies off. This leaves little time for trout to grab a bite, so they become very opportunistic when they see the electric green drake dry fly.
