is Precision Fly and Tackle’s Head Guide, as well as the instructor for our Fundamentals of Tightline Nymphing Classes. Ben was introduced to fly fishing and fly tying at a very young age. The sport quickly became a passion of his as he experienced the rush from bending his fly rod with a Panfish or trout. You could always find him spending time sharpening his skills while chasing after wild rainbows and native brook trout in some of the best steams in south-central Pennsylvania. Shortly after college, Ben was able to volunteer with Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing. This is where he found that he enjoyed teaching the art of fly fishing and sharing his passion with others. Since then he has grown as a fly fishing guide and loves to provide trips that will give memories for a lifetime.Streams that he guides on are various trout streams such as Falling Spring, Big Spring, Yellow Breeches, Little Juanita, Conococheague, Erie tributaries for steelhead, and the Juniata River for smallmouth.

His passion has taken him to various locations where he has fished for salmon, trout, warm water and saltwater species found within the waters of Alaska, the Florida Keys, Montana, Colorado, Oregon, Northern California, Maine, New Brunswick, Western Canada and also here in his home waters of Pennsylvania where he has found that the spring creeks of the Cumberland Valley are some of the most challenging fisheries in the world.He is a renowned tyer who represented the United States at the 2019 Atlantic Salmon Fly International held in New Brunswick. He was one of 80 individual tyers from around the world who were invited to demonstrate their skills to the general public during this three-day event. Currently, he is on the planning committee for the 2023 ASFI event that, although a location has not been decided yet – the likely location will be Italy. He will also be recognized by the Fly Fishers International organization during the summer of 2022 when one of his ties will be placed on permanent display at the FFI museum located in Livingston, Montana.

Mike was blessed to have been able to learn the art of fly fishing on some of the difficult and most famous spring creeks in the country. He has been doing so for over thirty years. Mike is a graduate of Penn State where he acquired a degree in Forestry. Mike Heck is the author of, “Spring Creek Strategies”. Mike also helped with, “Tying Dry
Flies”. Mike has also had articles published in Fly Fisherman,
American Angler and Fish and Fly Magazine. Mike has appeared in the TV show, “Road Trip USA”, a Discovery channel show that aired across Europe. Now, Mike operates as an SA Endorsed professional guide for himself and Precision Fly and Tackle. He guides on Falling Springs, Letort, Yellow Breeches and many other South Central PA trout streams. Mike is also an innovative fly tyer with several patterns credited to his name. These flies include his Simple Shrimp, Big Eye Rainbow, Mike’s Midges, Pupa, the snowshoe emerger series of

began fly fishing at age 11 and has never looked back. She worked with Trout Unlimited as a teen ambassador and with the state natural resources divisions for Montana, Maryland, and Virginia on various conservation projects. Rachel was fortunate enough to have spent time with Lefty Kreh and attributes her casting style to his teaching. She works at Precision’s Beaver Creek location in Maryland and teaches the Intro to Fly Fishing and tying classes. Rachel guides on Beaver Creek and other central Maryland trout streams, as well as walk-and-wade warm water trips in the region. When she isn’t fishing or working at the shop, you can find her on her bicycle, running, or riding horses.

began fly fishing in his mid-teens, cutting his teeth on the trout streams in the Southern end of York County before gravitating to warm water fisheries. To this day warm water species remain his primary focus and passion. Erik is very talented when it comes to targeting carp in Pennsylvania’s bigger rivers. You can book Erik for warm water float trips, or walk and wade trips in Lancaster and York County.

has fished all over Pennsylvania, and Western Montana. Brian lives within walking distance of his favorite steam, the Big Spring. Over the last 16 years, he has become very familiar with the large wild rainbow trout that call this water home. His other favorite places to fish locally are the Yellow Breaches, Mountain Creek, and many of Pennsylvania's small brook trout streams. Brian guides on the Big Spring, Yellow Breaches, and Mountain creek.

started fishing the Yellow Breeches at the age of 10 in the mid-’50s and he has been fishing the streams in South Central Pa ever since. Thom began tying flies in the mid-’70s, is well known for hisCDC patterns, and is a contract tier for Orvis and Holly Flies. As a registered Pa guide, he guides on the South Central streams, from Bob’s creek in the west to the Codorus Creek in the East.
