View full detailsJim Pettis developed this incredibly creative pattern to mimic the caddis hatch he faced as a guide on the Lower Sacramento River. The Glass Beads and sparse dubbing give the illusion of a pulsating insect. The more life you can add to a bug the better, and this gives the illusion of life like no other caddis pattern. Fish below an adult Elk Hair Caddis or in tandem with a Hare's Ear.
Use this pattern as a small stonefly, or as a mayfly nymph. Either way, it attracts the attention of trout, and is very, very productive!!

View full detailsThe PBR Midge is used to imitate a red midge or red chironomid, which are abundant in many rivers. This bug is enthusiastically targeted by trout, and this fly will catch them! The body of this fly is an irridescent red, which attracts the attention of trout! The small, highly reflective bead gives the appearance of a gas bubble, used by the natural insect to float to the surface.Check our our Fly of Week blog post about the PBR here.
