The CDC soft hackle gives this fly irresistible movement. The "hot spot plus movement" design produces everywhere it is fished, particularly when the water is cold. This fly is tied on a Hanak 450BL. View full detailsQuills provide natural segmention without any need for additional materials. That helps this fly stay sleek and sink quick. Well played, Mr Olsen. Like Perdigons in general, this fly has nothing to stop it from dropping to the bottom and resembling the size and silhouette of just about any mayfly nymph. The old adage states "if your nymph isn't getting stuck, you're not fishing where you should be" The Jiggy series uses a 60 degree jig hook, allowing the angler to fish the fly directly on the bottom where nymphs live. Increased drifts without hanging up on the bottom is the biggest advantage this style nymph offers. This orientation also helps with a more positive hook up, typically pinning the fish top dead center allowing a faster and safer release! View full detailsThe Copper J (compare to a Copper John) is a combination of three very effective nymph patterns, the prince nymph, the brassie, and the pheasant tail. The pattern is very effective, and has become just as popular as any other nymph that we sell. The most common way to fish this nymph is to tie it on as a dropper fly, attached to a hopper pattern up front. This version is tied with a tungsten bead to get the fly deep quickly, and a jig hook, which will help prevent snagging the bottom of the river.
