    DESCRIPTION

    The Copper J (compare to a Copper John) is a combination of three very effective nymph patterns, the prince nymph, the brassie, and the pheasant tail. The pattern is very effective, and has become just as popular as any other nymph that we sell. The most common way to fish this nymph is to tie it on as a dropper fly, attached to a hopper pattern up front.This version is tied with a tungsten bead to get the fly deep quickly, and a jig hook, which will help prevent snagging the bottom of the river.     With the evolution of synthetic materials in fly tying, designers experimented by replacing the standard natural materials with newly introduced fibers. Ice Dub is likely the most popular of those materials. With as many uses as it has, Mike Mercer found a use beyond others and a way to re-introduce the classic Prince Nymph with the same acceptance as the original. The Psycho Prince was developed using Ice Dub rather than Peacock, giving the pattern a more color diversity and enabling anglers to better match the hatch. A brilliant design.
