With the evolution of synthetic materials in fly tying, designers experimented by replacing the standard natural materials with newly introduced fibers. Ice Dub is likely the most popular of those materials. With as many uses as it has, Mike Mercer found a use beyond others and a way to re-introduce the classic Prince Nymph with the same acceptance as the original. The Psycho Prince was developed using Ice Dub rather than Peacock, giving the pattern a more color diversity and enabling anglers to better match the hatch. A brilliant design.
